The biggest IKEA store in the region is to be launched during the second quarter of 2018 in Bahrain's Salmabad. The construction on the Bahrain outlet is already under way.

The BD47 million joint venture between Ikea Saudi Arabia and Ghassan Ahmed Al Sulaiman Furniture Trading Company will feature a 6,200 square metre showroom, a 6,000 square metre market hall and a 5,000 square metre self-serve and full serve area. The total area of the project will span over 37,000 square metre. Main constructor on the project is GP Zachariades, a local firm.

Apart of furniture, customers can also enjoy a good meal while shopping. The store will house a 2,500 square metre restaurant, including a bistro and Swedish food market. Ikea's signature kid's care facility will allow customers to shop while the children are being taken care for by staff, and this free of charge.
